Introduction.

The location

SHELLTER is the starting point for unforgettable holidays in the Center region of Portugal. Our accommodation is located on Vieira beach, on the Silver Coast, and it’s close to nature, culture and heritage.

After enjoying the sea of Vieira, we invite you to expand your horizons and discover the beaches of São Pedro de Moel (10 minutes from SHELLTER), Pedrogão (10 minutes) and Nazaré and its big waves (30 minutes). Leiria and Marinha Grande, the biggest towns, are also close (30 and 15 minutes, respectively). Monuments such as Batalha Monastery, Alcobaça Monastery and the Shrine of Fátima are less than one hour away (between 35 and 45 minutes).

 

The building

SHELLTER is located in Rua da Lagoa, 6, on Vieira beach and only 3 minutes on foot from the main avenue (Avenida Marginal) and the beach. The building was initially a family’s holiday home but now it was turned into local accommodation with 5 fully-furnished apartments.

This local accommodation is property of PRUMOBLÍQUO – IMOBILIÁRIA, LDA., with its headquarters at Rua do Comércio, 1, 3105-235 Meirinhas, Pombal.

 

Accommodation

SHELLTER has 5 apartments and it’s properly licensed for local accommodation, with the registration number 118869/AL. This information is available on the website of the Portuguese Tourism Registry (RNT), at https://rnt.turismodeportugal.pt.

Each apartment has different themes and capacities:

  • Tropical (90 m2) – 2-bedroom apartment, one with a double bed and the other with twin beds;
  • Coral (90 m2) – 2-bedroom apartment, one with a double bed and the other with twin beds;
  • Starfish (60 m2) – 1-bedroom apartment with a double bed, closet and a sofa bed in the living room;
  • Lighthouse (70 m2) – 1-bedroom apartment with a double bed and a sofa bed in the living room;
  • Boat (70 m2) – 1-bedroom apartment with a double bed and a sofa bed in the living room.

Indoor

Inside the apartments you will find:

  • Free Wi-Fi;
  • LED TV with 130 channels in bedrooms and living room;
  • Heating;
  • Private bathroom;

  • USB ports in bedrooms

 

Kitchen

The kitchens of SHELLTER apartments are fully equipped, allowing guests to cook their own meals with all the convenience:

  • Vitroceramic plate;
  • Fridge;
  • Microwave;
  • Nescafé Dolce Gusto® coffee machine;
  • Electric kettle;
  • Toaster;
  • Dishes;
  • Kitchenware.

 

Outdoor

In SHELLTER’s outdoor areas, you will find:

  • Free and private parking (reservation required);
  • Charging station for electric vehicles;
  • Hot tub;
  • Terrace for sunbathing;
  • Living area.

If you want to enjoy the leisure area, you can request towels at the reception.

If the private parking is not available, parking is allowed on the street. When parking, please make sure that your car does not compromise the entry, exit and circulation of other vehicles.

 

Reduced mobility

SHELLTER does not have an elevator. When booking, check the apartment details to find if it is located on the first floor.

SHELLTER also does not have apartments for persons with reduced mobility.

 

Health and safety

The health and safety of the guests is a priority for SHELLTER. In the building you will find:

  • First aid kit (in the bathroom and at the reception);
  • Smoke detectors in the apartments;
  • Fire extinguishers inside the apartments and in common areas;
  • Closed-circuit television system for surveillance;
  • Apartment access by code (please check the House rules section).

COVID-19 measures

During the COVID-19 pandemic, it is mandatory to:

  • Wash and/or disinfect your hands before using any equipment in common areas;
  • Wear a mask in indoor common areas in any situation, and outdoors when it is not possible to keep a safety distance from the other guests;
  • Respect the safety distance of 2 meters between people who are not parte of your household/family or the same group of guests.

SHELLTER provides disinfectant solution dispensers in the common areas.

House rules.

Check-in

  1. Check-in starts at 16:00 (4 pm).
  2. Check-in will be confirmed after payment of the total price of the reservation.
  3. For legal reasons, it may be required an identification card or passport upon check-in.
  4. A link with the entry code will be provided to the guest upon check-in.
  5. In an emergency situation, guests can call to SHELLTER support line (please check the Useful contacts section).
  6. Any change to the stipulated time will have to be requested and justified.

 

Check-out

  1. Check-out can be done at 11:00 (11 am).
  2. The apartments must be accessible until 11:00 (11 am).
  3. Any change to the stipulated time will have to be requested and justified

 

Stay

  1. The apartments and the common areas are only accessible to the guests identified at the time of the booking and/or the check-in.
  2. It is forbidden the entrance and stay of persons who are not identified as guests.
  3. An additional fee of 100 euros will be charged to the offending customer if there is a presence of persons who are not identified as guests.

 

Reservations

  1. Reservations can be made by phone, email, website and other booking platforms. Subject to availability.

Terms and conditions

Common areas

  1. Administrative rules and recommendations about the use of common areas are allocated in such areas.
  2. If the guests do not comply with the rules and recommendations, they will be subject to penalties provided in the regulation, in the applicable manner (damage, safety, prohibition or other). In situations not covered by this regulation, the current legislation shall apply.
  3. In the common areas, guests must refrain from behavior that can disturb others.

 

Hot tub

The use of the hot tub is subject to the following rules:

  1. The hot tub is available from 10:00 (10 am) to 22:00 (10 pm).
  2. Showering before entering the hot tub is mandatory.
  3. Eating and drinking inside the hot tub is not allowed.
  4. The hot tub is not recommended for pregnant women.
  5. Children under the age of 6 can only use the hot tub with an adult.
  6. It is not recommended staying inside the hot tub fore more than 15 minutes.
  7. The maximum capacity of the hot tub is 5 adults.

 

Noise

  1. Out of respect and understanding for all the guests, please beware of noise in common areas, especially in the evening.
  2. From 22:00 (10 pm) it is not allowed loud activities that can disturb the other guests.

 

Hygiene and cleaning

  1. Cleaning guarantee upon change of guests.
  2. For longer stays, cleaning service is provided every 4 days.
  3. For longer stays, guests can request new towels after 4 days of staying, which will be delivered after the collection of used ones.

 

Domestic and urban waste

  1. The collection and selection of domestic and urban waste will be carried out by SHELLTER’s employees and placed in specific repositories for this purpose.
  2. SHELLTER has recycling bins in the common areas. Separation rules must be respected:
  • Glass (green bin)
    • Yes – bottles, jars;
    • No – crockery and ceramics, plastic bags, flat glass and windows, crystals and mirrors, lamps, medicine bottles.
  • Plastic and Metal (yellow bin)
    • Yes – plastic packaging, beverage packages, cans, plastic bags;
    • No – paper and cardboard, batteries, appliances, plastics not used for packaging.
  • Paper and Cardboard (blue bin)
    • Yes – cardboard boxes (clean, grease-free), magazines and newspapers, writing and printing paper;
    • No – plastic bags, tracing paper, diapers, dirty paper (napkins, toilet paper), toxic products, plastic paper, stickers.

When in doubt, please request SHELLTER team for instruction manuals.

 

Safety

  1. According to Portuguese Decree-Law no. 228/2009 of July 14, this company will not be responsible for money, jewelry or any other value objects that may disappear from these premises.
  2. Luggage storage is available. Please request when booking.
  3. Please make sure your door is closed and locked when you leave your apartment.
  4. It is not allowed permanence and/or stay of persons who are not included in the booking list.
  5. This establishment respects all the safety rules according to the Portuguese Decree-Law no. 220/2008 of November 12 and technical regulation established by Order no. 1532/2008 of December 29.
  6. In case of fire, guests have at their disposal: fire extinguisher, fire blanket, first aid kit.
  7. We suggest guests to identify the security equipment locations when reading this information.
  8. European emergency phone number is 112. In an emergency situation, please keep calm, provide all the information requested by the emergency technicians and follow their orders.

 

Prohibited activities

In addition to the above and the general rules of local accommodation, it is not allowed:

  • Smoking;
  • Changing apartments layout;
  • Leaving garbage in common and private areas;
  • Excessive alcohol use;
  • Pets;
  • Behaviors that may disturb other guests.

 

Goods, theft and damage

  1. Items such as decorative pieces, utensils, electrical and electronic equipment belonging to each apartment are properly inventoried.
  2. If guests wish to purchase any of these items, they must contact the SHELLTER team, who will inform them of the price.
  3. For any damage or act of robbery voluntarily commited by any guest at SHELLTER it will be debited the value from the guest’s credit card.
  4. SHELLTER will take legal action depending on the severity of the damage or act of robbery.

 

Customer claims

SHELLTER provides a Complaint Book.

  1. In case of customer claim please identify the employee, date and time of occurrence and deliver the customer claim to the SHELLTER manager, who must be in person.
  2. To fill the complaint, please request the Complaint Book to an employee or access the online Complaint Book, available at Electronic Complaints Book.
  3. In case of litigation, both parties shall designate jurisdiction to Leiria district.
  4. According to Law, guests can also contact Centro de Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo de Lisboa (CACCL), an arbitration centre for consumer conflicts.

Public transport

Inside and outside Vieira beach, guests can use the following public transports:

 

TUMG – Marinha Grande Urban Transports

The nearest stop is located at the intersection between Rua da Lagoa and Rua Dr. António Luís Gomes, only 55 meters from SHELLTER. The Orange 15 bus line connects Vieira beach and Vieira de Leiria, where passangers can take the Orange 14 line to Marinha Grande. During the high season, these lines are replaced by the Orange 14/15 bus line, which provides a direct connection between Marinha Grande, Vieira de Leiria and Vieira beach.

 

Rodoviária do Lis

This bus company provides transport in the municipalities of Batalha, Figueira da Foz, Leiria, Marinha Grande, Ourém, Pombal and Porto de Mós. There are daily connections between Leiria and Vieira beach. Through this company, guests can travel from Vieira beach to Pedrogão beach.

 

Rede Expressos

This bus company provides national and Iberian connections. Guests have access to this service at Leiria and Marinha Grande bus stations.

 

Trains

The nearest train stations are Monte Real and Marinha Grande, which provide connections to Lisbon, Caldas da Rainha, Leiria, Figueira da Foz and Coimbra.

Marinha Grande station is the most recommended, due to its public transport coverage.
